Our house has been sick lately. We have been through the high fever/coughing thing, the strep thing, and the stomach upset thing. I am really praying that we are done with all of the sickness stuff now. I've been down for the past 2 days and it's great to back in the land of the living.
I hope to post some more soon!

LIFE
Tonight we attended a banquet for a local maternity home that takes in young women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy and in need of help. The home takes them in, loves them, helps them make goals for their lives, helps them to and from their appointments, gives them parenting classes, gives them GED classes (for those who would like to finish high school), and so many more opportunities.
What a blessing that these young women in crisis are able to find help, acceptance, and the love of a heavenly Father when they need it most. I am so glad that this home exists to give these young mothers the opportunity to offer their children LIFE.

A BIG day in our school year
Today marks the halfway point for us this school year!
Yeah, I know we are way behind everyone else, but that is one of the awesome things about home schooling - being able to work at our own pace. So here we are at the end of week 18 and I am very proud of my young men. J#1 is halfway through 3rd grade, J#2 is halfway through Kindergarten, and J#3 is just along for the ride.
We've had some major changes in our lives since the beginning of the school year in August 2007.

We've had some major changes in our lives since the beginning of the school year in August 2007.
- We did some remodeling in our kitchen, main bathroom, and living room in July and on into August.
- Grandparents from California came to visit in September so we had to spend a week showing them around our great state of Missouri. Some of that was educational and some was just plain FUN!
- Grandparents from Kansas officially moved into our home to be part of our family unit here so there were lots of changes within the walls of our home. What a blessing Nana and Papa are to us!
- Then of course there are the sick days that must be taken when either a boy or a momma is down for the count.

Cat Litter Casserole???
Yesterday afternoon my 8yo son asked me what I was making for dinner. When I told him what was on the menu, he showed me a recipe for "Cat Litter Casserole" and asked if we could make it for dinner. I had all of the ingredients and so I decided to go with his idea...even though it really grossed me out!
So we headed upstairs to make dinner. We mixed a pound of ground beef with 1 cup of bisquick and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese along with some salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Then we formed them into small cat...er...uh...dumps of varying lengths and placed them on a cookie sheet. We baked them at 350 for about 20min until they were cooked through. Meanwhile, we made a pot of long grain rice with some salt and butter. Then we poured the rice into a 9x13 pan and carefully buried the dumps in the litter. Some of them we left sticking out. This looked so close to the "real" cat box we have downstairs, it was actually scary!
My 5yo son was very bothered by the thought of eating cat poop so my mother-in-law told him it was just "extruded hamburger." That he was okay with eating! He even asked for seconds of "extruded hamburger!"
So it was a real dinner adventure last night so I decided to share. Here is the picture:
Enjoy! It was a real hit at our house.

Welcome to my blog!
I guess this will be an introduction of sorts.
I am Marcia (mar-see-uh) and I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Jason, for nearly 14 years. We have 3 sons (ages 8, 5, and 4) and we are a home schooling family...which makes of a great adventure in and of itself!
My hubby has been a full time senior pastor for the past 2 years at TLC. We are so blessed to have a church family like TLC and we are very excited to be a part of something big that God is doing. We just have to stand back and say, "God is good...ALL the time!"
I am excited about sharing lessons learned, thoughts and feelings on this blog. I pray that it brings glory to my Heavenly Father in some small way.
Welcome,
Marcia
